Client Brief
Tailoring the user experience for the Museum of Time
The Waterford City and County Council wanted to create a museum that tells the story of the 5000 year history of timekeeping, to be called the Museum of Time. They had a collection of Irish and international timepieces, including early European timepieces dating back to the mid-sixteenth century, and wanted to create an engaging and interactive experience for visitors of all ages to explore the history and mechanics of timekeeping.
Deliverables
We led the creative team responsible for designing the interpretive plan, brand experience, spatial design, interaction design, and user experience design for the Irish Museum of Time. We designed an immersive and interactive experience that tells the story of the 5000 year history of timekeeping through the museum's collection of Irish and international timepieces. We also included a special section of the exhibition called "How it works" to engage young minds and foster an interest in science. Additionally, we gave special attention to often neglected spaces such as the restrooms, resulting in them being declared the best public toilets in Ireland.
